The Dog Professor is Charlotte's state-of-the-art dog training service. We train your dog
the same way a service animal is trained. This ensures compliance in all areas.
Your dog will respond to trained verbal commands, regardless of time, place, or age.
Each command is taught as an implied "Stay" for the dog's safety. The opposite is then taught
with a "Release" command. Every dog we train comes with a lifetime training guarantee.
As our customer, you will receive free lessons for the lifetime of your dog once training is complete.
Your success is our success.
Paul Svendsen is an Eagle Scout, Graduate of UNC Charlotte & has lived in the Charlotte area since 1996.
Animals of all types, but particularly dogs, have always been a passion of Paul’s. Growing up, he brought home several stray animals against the will of his parents. His care for animals has only grown since.
Paul was formerly one of two trainers at the largest Dog Training facility in Charlotte, NC (The Dog Knowledge). During this time, Paul trained hundreds of dogs which included Pet, Service, Therapy and Protection dogs.
While working at The Dog Knowledge, Paul spent extensive time training alongside National Level Schutzhund Competitor & Trainer, Jeff Rentz (Rentz Working Dogs). Jeff falls into the top 1% of all Schutzhund Competitors here in the United States. Working with such an accomplished & accredited professional ultimately helped Paul take his approach to the next level.
Paul’s training education & background is heavily mirrored around Ivan Balabanov’s system (Training Without Conflict). Ivan is widely considered the most successful dog trainer on the planet. A 2x World Champion (the only trainer to accomplish this) & a 14x time National Level Champion, all with dogs primarily from his own breeding program (Ot Vitosha Malinois).
Paul strives to better his methods and continues to attend workshops & seminars every year from the world’s top-level trainers & behaviorists. This perspective is what sets us apart from the competition.
